Inland Marine Towing Services

Quality Services Focused on Safety & Efficiency

Harbor Towing & Fleeting provides quality barge towing & shifting through the locks of the Mississippi River in New Orleans and the surrounding Gulf Coast region. We mainly work with tank barge customers who specialize in petrochemicals but also assist other marine companies who work with dry cargo and heavy equipment.

Whether our mariners are tripping barges through the locks in the Port of New Orleans, shifting barges from one dock to another or conducting stand-by work at a nearby refinery, they accomplish these operations with vessels that are kept in first-class condition and outfitted with the latest equipment and technology.

With two strategically located fleeting facilities, Harbor Towing & Fleeting can also help customers coordinate towing, shifting, fleeting, and staging on both the Lower Mississippi River and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway.

Integrated Towing and Fleeting Support

Harbor Towing & Fleeting combines experienced vessel operations with two strategically positioned New Orleans fleeting facilities.

Star Fleet encompasses 4,000 linear feet of fleeting space on the Lower Mississippi River at LMR MM 91 AHP RDB. Star Fleet East adds another 4,000 linear feet along the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway between mile markers 9 and 10 east of Harvey Lock.

Together, the facilities allow our team to serve customers traveling both the river and the GIWW. Barge lines can coordinate towing, shifting, fleeting, staging, and tow building through one trusted marine transportation partner.

Each vessel is operated by seasoned professional mariners, many of whom are dedicated, long-term employees. Our crews have extensive knowledge of the areas we navigate and are committed to taking the time and effort required to complete each job safely and correctly.
